1960s Dotted Geoffrey Beene Shift Dress

This is a stunning, museum quality piece that you really will be surprised to see in person - it is very hard to convey how substantial and well made this piece is. Really take a moment to super size the photos to get an idea of the fabric and textures of this piece! Those dots are all raised so you get an amazing textile effect. The bow and bottom hem is made of a heavy grade silk matte satin ribbon. The construction techniques used are of couture level and the main fabric is backed and weighted to retain its shape. Hidden pockets along the front seams, cap sleeves and a adorable little collar topping that dramatic and exaggerated bow at the front! It's a statement piece to be sure! Mint condition. Shoulders: 14.5" across Bust: 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Waist: 18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Hips: 20" flat across the back from side seam to side seam Length: 41" from mid back at the neck to bottom hem The dress is fully lined in an off-white muslin and closes with a back zipper and hook & eye at the back collar. Hand finished and extremely well constructed - the photos cannot convey how substantial and sculptural this feels in person. Very high end quality. It can be dry cleaned or hand washed when cleaned again in the future. Modern Sizing equivalent: SML (6-8)
