1960s Lilac Floral Print Dress With Cowl Neck and Pink Silk Lining

About the Item

This charming early 1960s silk blend floral print dress in lilac and green tones is beautifully tailored and in immaculate vintage condition. The surface design of peony flowers in citrus green tones contrasted with the pale lilac background is pleasingly luminous but doesn't shout and has a fresh, feminine aesthetic. The dress features a cowl neckline and short capped sleeves with princess seams on the bodice. The dress is tailored snugly at the waist and over the hip with neat darts on the navel. The mid calf length skirt appears straight cut from the front but is in fact a wrap around which is secured to the right at the reverse of the dress in a series of gathered pleats. There is a soft pink silk lining throughout and a concealed zip fastening to the right. This captivating piece would be the perfect choice for weddings and summer parties and would best suit up to a US size 4, UK size 8. Unlabelled but high quality vintage.
