2008 Runway Jeremy Scott Novelty Grandfather Clock Dress
About the Item
Runway documented Jeremy Scott novelty grandfather clock dress from his autumn / winter 2008 collection. Stretchy with unusual upturned shoulder pads, a keyhole opening in the turtle neck, long tapered sleeves, empire line bodice with the clock face whilst the pendulums are in the straight skirt element. Made in the USA from 100% wool, excellent gently worn vintage condition with no issues. The label inside this dress reads M, which converts to a UK 10 or US 6. For best fit, please refer to our measurements.
Moschino's creative director, Jeremy Scott unveiled another grandfather clock dress in a surrealist nod during the brand's autumn / winter 2022 runway collection. Whilst Scott referenced earlier Franco Moschino designs from the 1990s, the standouts were the Disney inspired Beauty and the Beast animated household objects that were reimagined as evening dresses and suits. We have sold several notable early Franco designs over the years and were delighted to see their comeback in this collection.
Notes on Designer:
Founded in 1997, Jeremy Scott's whimsical creations ensured a slew of celebrity endorsements by the likes of Björk, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Britney Spears. The designer took his eponymous label from Paris to LA in 2001. Later clients included Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and rappers Nicki Minaj and A$AP rocky before they shot to international fame. He has been at the helm of Moschino since 2013.
