Debbie Harry Vintage Collection Silk Floral Dress
About
Debbie Harry began her musical career in the late 1960s with folk rock group The Wind in the Willows and later joined The Stilettos in 1974. She then formed the group Blondie with Chris Stein in 1975. Harry became a pop music and fashion icon. Her cool and sexy style paved the way for future female artists. Blondie has sold over 40 million records worldwide and continues today with a new album titled "Panic of Girls".
Harry’s fashion choices early on in her career were usually based on what she could afford at the time. Luckily, Blondie emerged on the scene during the time in music history when glam rock was giving way to punk and new wave, a time when everything from music to art was about deconstruction and handiness. The big change in Harry’s fashion choices came in 1975 when she met fashion designer Stephen Sprouse, who took her out of 30’s and 40’s day dresses paired with cowboy boots styled her in designer wear.
A portion of all the proceeds from sales will go to the artist’s charity, Riverkeeper.org
