About the Item

1980's Escada two piece silk dress including a blousy short sleeved top and pleated skirt both with an airbrush art style print. The collarless top buttons up the front with an inverted pleat at the back, soft shoulder pads, lingerie snaps and a fabulous face adorning the front complete with orchid accent. The flowing skirt buttons and zips at the side with flat pleats across the hip for a smooth fit and an abstract circle and dot pattern. The cream background on both pieces is the perfect backdrop for the colorful shades of aqua, purple, magenta, green, hot pink and yellow. Both pieces are labeled and were acquired from the estate of Betty Foy Sanders, artist, philanthropist and former first lady of Georgia. In addition to her artistic talents, Ms. Sanders was also known for her unique and fashion forward sense of style. CONDITION Both pieces are in good condition though there are some discolorations on the top as shown in photographs 7, 13, 14 and 15. Both photographs 7 and 13 show the same spot located at the bust on the front panel of the top. Photograph 14 shows a discoloration located on the top at a front panel which is near the bottom hem. Photograph 15 shows discoloration at the back of the top about half way down from the shoulder. To some extent, the artistic print camouflages the issues. Professionally cleaned and ready to wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The top is marked a German 36 and the skirt a 42. They best fit a U.S. size 10 - 12 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the skirt had to be pinned.
