About the Item

1960's sundress in a brightly colored seersucker madras plaid fabric by Gino Charles, a division of Malcolm Starr. Gino Charles was actually a label created by Teal Traina and Malcolm Starr in the mid 1960's. This adorable dress combines a casual fabric in shades of pink, red, orange, yellow and deep purple with sparkling red and gold sequins for a look that can go from day to evening. The dress has doubled lingerie straps with a coordinating cummerbund style belt. It zips and hooks at the back with an inner grosgrain ribbon waistband, hidden side pockets and lining at the bodice. Retailed at Joseph Brennan of Atlanta, Georgia. Fun in the sun ... and the evening sky too! CONDITION Good vintage condition with some wear and discoloration to the lining at the bodice shown in photograph 15. There are missing sequins primarily noticeable on the cummerbund belt which can be seen in photograph 3. Photograph 10 shows the dress dress without the belt. Professionally cleaned and ready to wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is not marked though the dress best fits U.S. sizes 4 - 6 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4. Bust 32" Waist 26.5" Full Hips 42" Shoulder Length Taken From Outside Strap to Strap 11" Length From SHoulder to Hem 41.75" Length From Shoulder to Waist 14.5" The cummerbund style belt measures 29.5" from end to end x 2.5" wide (actually seemed a little big for the dress though the hooks could be moved to create a cinch).
