About the Item

Dutch designer, Koos Van den Akker, became known in the 1970’s for his ‘collage’ clothing designs whereby he expertly mixed textiles for a great bohemian effect. This two piece dress consists of a top and skirt with a textural patchwork mix of candlelight white lace and silk striped fabric in a natural wheat color and light charcoal gray. The pullover top has buttons across one shoulder and a raglan style construction. The skirt has an elasticized waist and soft pleating for an easy fullness. Neither piece is lined and due to the openwork of the lace, it can be revealing and might require undergarments depending on your modesty and personal style. Originally retailed at Neiman Marcus in the 1980's. CONDITION Both pieces are in good condition though the neckline of the top has subtle makeup discolorations as shown in photograph 14. The ensemble has been professionally cleaned and is ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Both pieces are marked a U.S. size 8 though they best fit a modern size 4 - 6 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
