From the Spring/Summer 1996 collection, this dress debuted on the season’s runway on Shalom Harlow and was also highlighted in the season’s ad campaign on Linda Evangelista. Also featured on the cover of the June 1996 issue of Vogue Spain on Laura Ponte, in the January 1996 issue of Harper’s Bazaar on Shalom Harlow, captured by Patrick Demarchelier, and in an editiorial with Dolce & Gabbana muse, Monica Bellucci. Featuring a bateau neckline, this dress features high slits on either side that allow the bikini bottoms to perfectly poke through. The idea for this collection was found in the timeless style of Monica Vitti in the 1960 Italian classic film, L'Aventura. The resulting Italian summer looks were described by Stefano and Domenico as "the Sicilian holiday of a glamorous socialite.
