Gorgeous Geoffrey Beene green, yellow and black striped silk-jersey dress dating back to his 1966 collection. The same garment, in a pink shade, was famously worn by Sharon Tate. Geoffrey Beene made strong impressions with his courteous manner as well as his highly original style. He was a champion of minimalist design. Beene’s view of style was more about function than fad. His clothes were structured but never rigid and rely on the craftsmanship of careful detail. I love the asymmetric one-shoulder bodice which sits beautifully on the bodice due to the couture style inner padded bib. The "easy to wear" pleated tent silhouette lets one feel comfort while exuding style. A rare collector's piece from one of America's greatest designers.
