About

There are lots of lovely 1920's garments still around, but every once in a while I come across one that sets my heart a flutter! This is an extraordinarily beautiful and exceptional 1920's French museum quality sheer net-tulle dance dress. Iridescent glossy sequins are mixed with brilliant blue glass tube-beads whose faceted cut creates a dazzling sparkle! My favorite part is the floral garden motif that runs fully around the drop-waist. The work is entirely hand-applied with 3-dimensional aspects throughout. The seductive side-slit skirting really sets this garment apart from other flapper dresses of the time. It is amazing that a piece with this amount of presence can literally feel almost weightless but it does. So romance and rare!

This antique French flapper dress is in excellent wearable condition with no stains, rips or discoloration. The garment slips over the head with center back hidden hook/eye closures. Bodice is fully lined in sapphire-blue silk. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today. This dress is over 90 years old and is truly breathtaking!
