About the Item

Jeanne Marc, the husband and wife team from San Francisco well known for their artfully designed garments, creates a 1980's version of the Delphos silhouette made famous in the early 1900's by another husband and wife team, Henriette Negrin and Mariano Fortuny. This contemporary Jeanne Marc ensemble incorporates a signature micro pleated candlelight white fabric in a satin finish which drapes the feminine form beautifully and is reminiscent of Mary McFadden's version of the Delphos gown. Unlike the unstructured Fortuny dresses, Jeanne Marc has added a belted sash to the dress to enhance an hourglass form and provided a topper in the form of a kimono style jacket complete with padded shoulders, shawl collar and unstructured sleeves. The jacket bears an abstract floral print incorporating pale shades of icy blue and sage green. The dress can be worn belted or sashed and with or without the jacket providing versatility for many different looks. Perfect for an evening out or even better as glamorous hostess attire ... packs well for travelers. Excellent condition. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is unmarked and due to unstructured nature of the garments and stretch of the micro pleated fabric can fit a variety of sizes though it is probably best for U.S. sizes 6 - 8 with attention to the following measurements taken without stretching the fabric. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
