About the Item

This 1980's cocktail ensemble is channeling the 1960's complete with a sequined mini dress and a coordinating jacket. Both pieces are designed with a bright yellow and a cardinal red silk shantung fabrics. The dress is embellished with golden zigzag sequins interspersed with braiding and features a flirty keyhole back accented with bows. The coordinating topper has the volume of a swing coat with the addition of a classic trench silhouette including epaulets, military style buttons, sash belt and hidden side pockets. The dramatic shoulder pads give away the '80's origin but the dress on its own is definitely a nod to go-go girl fashions. This ensemble was custom made for the original owner, a fashionable Atlanta resident, by Atlanta dressmaker Janice Paradies under her own label, Elan. The dress is fully lined and in excellent condition. The coat is in good condition though it has a couple of spots on the right front panel as shown in photographs 14 and 15 and a discoloration on the front side hem shown in photograph 16. These spots are difficult to notice both due to fabric volume and their location close to the hem. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is not marked though the dress best fits a modern size 4. The topper will fit a variety of sizes ranging from Smalls-Mediums both due to the volume of fabric and swing coat style silhouette. Please note the following measurements.
