About the Item

Exotic elegance exudes from this C.1960 jade green satin cropped top jacket and skirt ensemble. The silk and rayon blend is fully lined and bears a bluish hint to the rich green shade offset by pearls and seed beads in a floral design with fringe style beading at hem and sleeves. The top has a boxy silhouette with one hook at the neckline. The straight skirt zips and hooks at the back with a slit at the back hem. Retailed at Davison's, a well appointed department store and an Atlanta shopping institution from the late 1800's until the 1980's when it was renamed Macy's. The ensemble coordinates with an evening coat shown in photograph 15 which was sold as a separate and is available in another listing. Consider pairing the jacket with white cigarette pants and a shell top for a fun alternative look. CONDITION The two pieces are in good vintage condition and have been professionally cleaned. The beading on the jacket is in great shape with one pearl bead missing (photograph 13) and some loose beads here and there. There are a couple of linear dark smudge marks on the left shoulder as shown in photograph 14 which appears to be from long term storage. The skirt shows signs of alteration at the waistband which can be seen in photograph 11. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The pieces are marked size 14 and best fit U.S. size 8 with attention to the following measurements taken with top held closed at the front.
