About the Item

Hostess with the Mostest! This 1960's ultra glam aqua blue and silver metallic threaded caftan lounge dress would be right at home in Doris Duke's closet. The dress is constructed in two layers with a voluminous lightweight sheer outer layer in a silver acetate and nylon blend fabric lined underneath with a coordinating sleeveless rayon fabric that is cut with a narrower silhouette. It zips and hooks at the back with a mandarin collar and open kimono style sleeves. A wonderful option for hostess wear or perfectly suitable for a glamorous evening out. Made in Hong Kong for Macy's. CONDITION Good vintage condition with some signs of age, wear and storage. The lining is subtly discolored at the collar as shown in photograph 12 and has a small hole at the upper back panel as shown in photograph 13. These issues are not visible on the exterior. The outer shell has some weakness or pulls to the fabric on the lower left shoulder as shown in photographs 14 and 15, presumably caused from a hanger during storage. The dress has been professionally cleaned and is ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a U.S. size 'M' for medium and best fits medium to large sizes with attention to the following measurements taken at the lining. The style is loose fitting a voluminous by design. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4.
