An ultra chic and incredibly rare Madame Grès haute couture sculpted maxi dress and multi-purpose caftan shawl dating back to the mid 1970's. Madame Grès felt that the true job of the couturier was not to create a name for one's self, as many designers do, but to pay rigorous attention to the clothing. This eye-catching ensemble has so much detail, you can tell it was made with skilled devotion. The gorgeous print she uses for this set reads so modern; a vibrant graphic tribal motif in hues of blue, black and orange. An alluring sleeveless high-neck bodice with a flattering sculpted maxi skirt keeps the dress classic. The matching caftan shawl is a wonderland for imagination. There are so many ways to style this epic piece! We loved it as a hooded headscarf, an asymmetric caftan blouse, an off-shoulder overlay and even just as a beautiful shawl wrap. We added many pictures so you can see. The workmanship is of the highly level as one would expect from such an iconic couturier.
