About the Item

An ultra chic and totally unique Naeem Khan fully-beaded ivory silk gown dating back to the early 1980's. In 1978, Khan moved to the United States to apprentice for legendary American designer Halston. During this time, he mastered the art of draping, garment construction, and worked with cultural icons such as Liza Minnelli, Andy Warhol, and Elizabeth Taylor. Khan started the fashion house Riazee in 1981 and early creations such as this showstopper really show the blend of his own style with that disco-era easy Halston was famous for. This gorgeous gown definitely confirms Naeem Khan's genius. The fabrication itself is a masterpiece; high quality double-layered creamy ivory silk which have been fully beaded with white glass beads and large pearls. The heavily embellished, cut-out billow-sleeves really steals the show. This intricate cutwork carries throughout the neckline, backside and hemline. It molds to the body effortlessly and the silhouette really looks magnificent when you walk. We added any pictures so one can appreciate this masterful achievement. This would make a beautiful red carpet or bridal moment. Measurements Bust: 34-36 inches Waist: 30 inches Hips: 36 inches Sleeve Length: 29 inches (due to billow) Total Length: 58 inches This early 1980's Riazee by Naeem Khan ivory gown is in wonderful condition with no discoloration, rips or alternations. Presents beautifully. Perfectly working zipper and impressive beadwork throughout. After close inspection we found one small spot by the side hip and some vey minor bead loss. Please message for detailed pictures. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
