About the Item
The French designer was celebrated for the colourful and elegant designs he imagined particularly during the 1960s through to the 1980s
Ungaro dared to mix colours, material and motifs that created a strong visual impact.
Yet the craft elements of his designs in the form of prints and silhouettes were never overwhelming.
His flamboyant use of pattern to design comfortable and flattering clothes that sensually encased the female body made Ungaro a favourite with high profile celebrities including Jacqueline Kennedy and Catherine Deneuve.
This peplum style jacket that elegantly sculpted the body is constructed from a beautiful and light weight velvet material embroidered with pink and white flowers and silver foliage. It exemplifies the sensual world that Emanuel Ungaro created with fabrics, colour effects and prints. The jacket is cinched at the waist with wide shoulders Featuring a round neckline and long sleeves. The evening jacket is decorated with light pink satin and velvet ruffles on each side of the hip Fastening with a single row of metal swirling buttons from the neck down the entire front.
