Jacques Saint Just Oversized Leather Panel Hunting Ensemble, 1980s

About the Item

One part Molly Ringwald and one part Hermès equestrienne, this pullover and midi skirt ensemble is unlike anything we've seen. "Pre-layered," the bias cut circle skirt features free-hanging wool panels at the front and back PLUS full-length leather insets at both sides, while the matching pullover top has an extra-large cowl neck and matching leather trim. The effect is a Scottish Highlands hunting look that begs to be worn with lace up field boots. Cozy, elegant and slouchy-chic. Pullover top and midi skirt ensemble of two differently-patterned wool knits and leather. Top features wide cowl neck, long dolman sleeves and body of navy and green stripes; trimmed in saddle leather around cowl neckline, dolman armscyes and buttoned cuffs. Pullover construction with no closures of any kind; lightly padded shoulders. Matching bias cut circle skirt of herringbone knit wool with inset leather panels at both hips and waistband; two additional panels of bias cut striped wool hang freely from front and rear waist. Left side zipper closure with button at waistband; on seam pockets both sides.
