About the Item

This truly eye-catching 1950's dress and coat set, in a wonderful pink wool and navy blue silk with raised trailing soutache embroidery, in a contrasting white braiding is the perfect ensemble for your wardrobe. The V shape neckline of the dress is framed by a pointed pink wool collar and stylised lapel details, embellished with trailing white braiding in a soutache detail. The simple shoulder line of the dress, sets off the short length sleeves. The elegant bodice, draws the eye to the cinched in waistline. The timeless skirt, is accented by pockets to either side of the front of the hipline, that set off the straight cut of the skirt. The matching coat boasts an edge to edge cut, allowing for the collar of the dress to be turned down over the coat. The shoulder line is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads that set off the mid length sleeves, edged with wide turned up cuffs embellished with matching trailing braided soutache. The straight cut of the coat is set off by a stylised belt design with large decorative buttons in matching pink wool to each side and a central back buckle. The coat is not lined. Gentle wear and age marks along the internal part of the back of the neckline. The coat has some gentle wear to the wool along the back buckle of the coat, with a few light age marks to the buckle. These minor details are in now way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the product description.
