1950s Black Cat Pin-Up Catalina Swimsuit

About

Super sexy printed 1950s swimsuit that can double as a playsuit for a really brave girl. It's made from that high grade cotton that one only finds from this time period. It has been hand screened with a killer, unique print of darling little black cats sitting atop red cushions. It is cut in that classic pin-up bombshell style of the day - all curves and sexiness missed with girl next door innocence. The top is halter style, with two straps and a built in foundation. A pretty tiered row of ruffles make the sweetheart neckline and the body of the suit is gathered - I love the inverted V seam that highlights every curve. The back is a panel of elastic gathers allowing for maximum comfort and a perfect fit. It is a Catalina suit and I think my favorite detail just might be the one unseen - the back of the label says "Styled for the Stars of Hollywood" and there is another tag letting you know tht this puckered fabric has a US patent! Amazing! Excellent condition.

Bust: stretches from 14-16ish” from side seam to side seam

Will fit an A- B cup

Waist: stretches from 10-13ish” from side seam to side seam

Hips: stretches from 12-16ish” from side seam to side seam

Total length: 31” from top of shoulder strap to bottom hem

The front of the bathing suit is lined and has a built in cotton cup. The back of the suit is unlined. There is buttons that hold the straps into place on the back and front - you can remove the straps completely so it can be worn strapless. There is the slightest of fading to the black and red parts - its overall and adds to the uniqueness of this piece I think! It can be hand washed when cleaned again in the future.

Any of our garments can be purchased directly from the Shrimpton Couture website. Layaway is available, we have a full return policy and items are shipped boxed and freshly cleaned!
