Spanish KLUMPE ROLDAN Lady Tourist Doll, 1950's
About the Item
Wildly whimsical Spanish doll created in the 1950's by Klumpe Roldan for the tourist market. This highly animated doll depicts a traveler laden with luggage, sporting goods, handbags and an adorable countenance. It's like 'I Love Lucy' goes on vacation! As funny as she is ... the doll is hand crafted with loads of detail and a very artistic (and creative) mind. Her face is hand painted on silk with an animated look hard to ignore and her hairdo is created with mohair strands. The leatherette covered body is bendable with fabric and felt clothing accented by metallic touches here and there ... I just love the gold bangle bracelets! And that figure! Let's just say the bosom is a match for the booty. Please note, she is capable of standing on her own though due to luggage and other accessories, she might be more stable in a stand. Wherever she is going ... there is sure to be an adventure.
CONDITION
Good vintage condition with some signs of age and wear including a little discoloration to the teal green top and messiness to the strawberry blonde locks. We will call it travel patina!
