About the Item
A superb 1:12 scale scratch-built model of the Maserati 250F, handcrafted by the renowned model maker Michele Conti. This exquisite kerbside model, produced in the mid 1950s, is among the most beautiful and highly sought-after examples of Conti’s work rarely seen on the market and prized by collectors worldwide.
Michele Conti’s remarkable craftsmanship was formally recognized on May 18, 2003, at the Reading Ferrari Concours d’Elegance, where his lifelong achievements earned him the Enzo Ferrari Hall of Fame Award for his dedication to the Ferrari automobile. His son, Maurizio Conti also a distinguished model builder under the Conti name accepted the award on behalf of his late father. This ultimate accolade celebrated over forty years of mastery by Michele and Maurizio in the rarefied art of fine, scratch built model making. Their creations are true works of art owned by only a fortunate few, yet admired by all who appreciate exceptional craftsmanship.
Constructed in metal, this model features rolling wheels with rubber tyres, functional steering, and a detailed cockpit with a leather seat. It is finished in Rosso Corsa race livery, bearing the number 4, and is signed “Conti.M.” in yellow paint on the underside.
