Antique hand-knitted beaded bag with hallmarked silver hanger + chain from 1850s

About the Item

The beaded bag has a silver handle in the shape of a double arch, which is designed with an adjuster made of stylized flower and leaf tendrils and has a pressure closure. A 38 cm long pea chain is attached to 2 eyelets on the side. The flat, tall rectangular pocket bag is made using bead knitting. It shows the same flower motif on the front and back: red ones on a background of colorless glass beads Flowers, a rose in light tones in the middle and 2 flowers in pink tones on the side, framed with green foliage. Finally, a border with small flowers. The pearl bag is lined with a thin goatskin. Age-related flaws in the leather lining. Bag hanger and carrying chain made of 800 silver. Hallmarked with crescent, crown and hallmark and 800. The silver bracket has a width of 3.5 cm in the middle and is narrower at the sides.
