About the Item

It's a Schaak attack! A fabulous Martin Van Schaak dark royal blue fabric top handle handbag with a glass medallion decoration is on the prowl just waiting to add a dash of vintage glamour to your wardrobe. Mr. Van Schaak's handbag designs are truly the epitome of 'exclusive' and were carried and collected by stylish (and wealthy) women from coast to coast including Hollywood royalty and first ladies. He sold by appointment only in his New York apartment and would travel to see his clients in other parts of the country. He often referred to his bags as 'fantasies' and used the finest materials including jewelry enhancers to create a unique look for each design ... and customer. This bag is designed with a formal ribbed fabric in a dark royal blue and sports double satin handles. It essentially offers three compartments including two open side pockets and an interior compartment with a gold tone push lock closure. The large decorative medallion is akin to a brooch and is designed with a mottled blue art glass with gold flecks, which is presumably Murano, framed by a gold tone setting accented by crystal rhinestones and black enamel. Gorgeous! CONDITION The handbag is in very good condition and appears to have been rarely used. There is a small fabric flaw as shown in photograph 15 and some subtle rippling to the fabric near the medallion though nothing truly objectionable. The fabric at the inside frame appears a little darkened which may be from use, please see photograph 14. MEASUREMENTS The handbag measures 8.75" wide x 6.25" tall x 4" deep at the base. Each of the double handle measures 14.5" from end to end providing a 6" drop. It is large enough at the interior for most tech devices.

Condition:
Very good condition and appears rarely used. Small fabric flaw shown in photograph 15 and some subtle rippling to the fabric near the medallion though nothing truly objectionable. Fabric at the inside frame appears a little darkened from use.
