The sculptors of Burma have created a sacred, profane art of incomparable beauty and wealth Subjected to strict canons, the statuary of religious inspiration is nonetheless imprinted with a deep sense of spirituality and grandeur. The Master is represented from the front, half-closed eyes in sign of meditation and elongated auricular lobes - this detail being considered one of his bodily perfections. His round face with full cheeks, but without heaviness, the lips well hemmed marrying the oval of the chin, bead of the raised eyebrows arches that meet to form the nasal ridge. The hairstyle, which clears the forehead well and covers the usniça formed of a truncated cone with broad base.
