Han Dynasty Green Glazed Covered Storage Jar

About the Item

A wonderful Han Dyansty (206 BC-200 AD) storage vessel. The circular body set upon three legs and fitted with a lid. The entirety covered in heavy leaded green glaze, imitating bronze. A pair of taotie mask handles have been applied to the sides, the rest of the body plain save for a few simple lines. The lid features concentric bands decorated with various motifs; reminiscent of patterns found on bronze mirrors of the period. The glaze has degraded from centuries of burial, and now exhibits a wonderful shimmering, silvery patina.
