Japanese Antique Horse Object 1920s-1940s / Figurine Mingei Wabisabi

About the Item

This is an old Japanese horse figurine. It was made in the early Showa period (1920s-1940s). It is mainly made of paper. (Various materials are used). It is a very elaborate creation. You can feel Japanese craftsmanship. It weighs 400g. Since ancient times, people have created and inherited necessary tools from familiar materials to survive in the severe struggle against nature, and have nurtured a lifestyle culture. Over a long period of use, they accumulate a taste and reflect a way of life. The harsher the natural environment and the weaker human beings are, the stronger their power becomes. In today's world, where cheap and disposable products are encouraged, the act of repeatedly modifying and re-creating the things around us opens up a new world. With this philosophy in mind, we carefully select and collect beautiful, powerful, and unique Japanese antiques.
