Japanese Antique Katana Tansu / Paper Pasted Drawer / Meiji Period WabiSabi

About the Item

This is an old box for storing Japanese swords called "Katana Tansu". It seems to be around the Edo period to the Meiji period. Paulownia is used as a material, and a number of Japanese paper are pasted on the outside of the box and dyed with persimmon juice and black urushi. If you put it vertically, it won't be very stable. I think you can put it next to it and use it as an exhibition stand to decorate small things. I think the artistic expression created by the change of time is very valuable. Weight: 2.5kg
