19th Century Chinese Armchair

About the Item

This Nicely proportioned Qing Dyanty, Chinese armchair with simple Ming lines is handcrafted with Northern Elm (Yumu) using traditional mortise and tenon joinery. The seat has been rewoven with burlap yarn, sometime within its lifetime. The arm has an unusual wooden spindle design for support and a simple geometric design is used in back splat of the chair. This chair comes with a custom silk fabric cushion.

The wood is finished in a deep rich red transparent lacquer giving the wood a lustrous finish . They are generous in scale and comfortable and original throughout.
