19th Century Pair of Spring Benches

About the Item

Spring Benches (Pair) 20h x 41w x 13d (lowest part of the legs) The top of the pair is a solid plank of wood. The legs are beaded in the style of “incense stick” and are jointed to the top panel by using unmitered tenoned joints. The spandrels are carved in the shape of the Lingzhi sacred fungus. The depth of the top is 7.25 inches and at the base of the legs is 13 inches. Wood: Yang & Yu Origin: Shanxi Period: 19th C MM413

    Repaired: The top of one of the benches appears to have a small repair - picture 5. Wear consistent with age and use. We do not refinish pieces - each item is disassembled, cleaned, and waxed. There appears to be a minor repair on the top on one of the benches. 5th picture.
