Antique Lacquered And Paint Decorated Chinese Cabinet for Restoration

About the Item

A historical and very decorative Chinese Cabinet with inset printed scenes with chop marks. A long rectangular cabinet in oxblood red lacquer with panels of raised decoration with birds in flowering trees on the top and vessels on stands on the sides. The double hinged doors decorated with shaped panels with color prints of domestic scenes with women on terraces. One shelf inside. A row of five small drawers are on the lower frame. The back with panels and a hole cut out. The whole raised on a separate base with angular feet. L. 76", Depth 13", H. 33" Condition: Restoration required. There are various signs of age and wear including damage to the top, significant paint and finish losses, a broken door pull and various age related losses (shown in photos. Despite the distressed condition, the cabinet retains a colorful and exotic presentation.
