Chinese Altar Table, 19th Century
About the Item
This is a stunning and long Chinese altar table that measures a full 10 ft. in length with carved end pedestals featuring high relief buddhistic lions and extensive fretwork uniting the pedestals. The pedestals have drawers at the ends. All elements of the table are original. Altar tables with this type of high relief carving, length and condition are very unusual. The top separates from the end pedestals for easy shipping. The table would be show-stopper displayed in a dining room--it could easily server as a room divider as the elegant fret work is present on the back, as well as the front.
