Edo period Japanese medicine chest

About the Item

This is a very old and rare Japanese tooling storage tansu. It was made early Edo period of Japanese cedar and its handle was made of iron. Its ultimate beauty can be seen from its ratio and balance designed by the maker and textures wore by time. Drawers move smoothly and are in good condition. Even there are some small moth-eaten holes, but should not be an issue now as every part has been cleaned and fumigated.
