Limited Edition Invisible Side Table by July Zhou

About the Item

Each limited-edition Invisible Side Table by artist July Zhou is fashioned after a traditional Ming dynasty example. Unlike similar lucite furniture that is injection molded, July's work is created by skilled artisans who heat, join, bend, carve, and polish each table precisely and seamlessly by hand. Masterfully crafted, each work appears as though it's been carved from a single block of lucite. July has worked for years to create examples of Ming furniture that communicate the beauty of classic Chinese forms, free and clear of common wood material. His work and experimentation with lucite exemplifies the exciting wave of contemporary design and innovation emerging out of China. Additional Dimensions: Table Apron to Floor: 21.75"

This detail gives the design a natural flow and references bent bamboo. Chinese carpenters during the Qing dynasty held simplicity and craftsmanship in equal regard.
