About the Item
Fine six-posted canopy bed.
The bed base with a rounded-front edged frame and a caned top, supported on circular-sectioned legs decorated with straight stretchers and vertical struts, the six posts braced on the back and sides by railings of tiered straight stretchers and vertical struts, two short railings with lattice work of the endless knot (an auspicious symbol of wisdom, compassion and harmony) flanking the opening to the bed, the upper frieze with a series of open-carved frames decorated with fretwork of geometric blossoms motif
