Antique Oversized Round Moroccan Polished Brass Tray Platter 19th C.

About the Item

Antique 19th century oversized round shape Moroccan polished metal brass tray platter. Polished decorative metal round brass tray with very fine intricate geometric Moorish Islamic designs. Hand-hammered and chiseled in floral and geometric Moorish Islamic style. Heavy brass metal brass tray could be use as a tray table or on an ottoman. Great decorative brass Islamic Art object. Huge and heavy 38.5 inches diameter. Handcrafted in Fez Morocco circa 1900s. This gorgeous Moroccan round brass has been restored polished in front only to keep the patina and the age visible in the back. Moroccan style, Mughal Raj Indian, Bohemian, Anglo Indian Campaign style. Many ways to describe this beautiful intricate hand tooled brass tray top table. This extraordinary table is round with a larger scale presence than most similar tables. These tables were very popular mid-20th century and I can see why, they provide a fabulous accent and juxtaposition to the straight lines of a Mid-Century Modern design aesthetic, or add grandeur to a maximalist Bohemian or Moorish design. A polished Moroccan brass tray is a stunning piece of traditional craftsmanship that showcases the rich artistic heritage of Morocco. It is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans who specialize in metalwork and imbue each tray with intricate designs and meticulous attention to detail. The tray typically features a circular or rectangular shape, with a slightly raised rim to prevent items from sliding off. The brass material is carefully worked to achieve a smooth and shiny surface, which is then polished to a lustrous finish, enhancing the natural beauty of the metal. One of the distinguishing features of a polished Moroccan brass tray is its exquisite engraving. The artisans skillfully carve intricate patterns, geometric motifs, or elaborate floral designs onto the surface of the tray. These designs are often inspired by traditional Moroccan architecture, Islamic art, or nature, and reflect the cultural and artistic influences of the region. Polished Moroccan brass trays are not only decorative but also serve practical purposes. They can be used as serving trays for food and drinks, as decorative display pieces on tables or walls, or as centerpieces for special occasions or gatherings. Their versatility and timeless beauty make them a popular choice for interior design, adding an exotic touch to a wide range of settings. Overall, a polished Moroccan brass tray is a testament to the skill and artistry of Moroccan craftsmen. Its combination of intricate designs, polished surfaces, and decorative elements creates a captivating piece that embodies the rich cultural heritage of Morocco and serves as a stunning focal point in any space.
