Chinese Export Silver Mug

About the Item

An interesting and delightful Chinese export silver mug, of double-skin construction and decorated with bamboo leaves against a matte background. The small oval cartouche, which is flanked by two splendid looking winged insects, is engraved with an inscription that reads W.D.B. from his brother Robert 1st June 1847. The mug is from Canton in the 1840s, and has four pseudo-hallmarks including YS for Yatshing. Weight 293g. .
