Japanese animal bronze ( tiger and water buffalo )
About the Item
early 1900s work. Two magnificent wild beasts are captured in a moment of an amazing fight for survival. A ferocious fanged tiger is shown taking a weakened and wobbly water buffalo to the ground. This heavily muscled cat's excitement is
masterfully rendered by the skilled hands of the artist. Rich brown patination enhances this piece, adding to the drama of the scene. The bronze is signed with a chop mark and is an excellent example of Japanese artistry.
