About

19th century regency chinoiserie decorated sewing stand with elaborate detail. This is simply the finest in sewing tables with a pedigree to match. This regency chinoiserie sewing table, circa 1820, in black lacquer with hand painted elaborate chinoiserie decoration and gilt carved lion’s paw feet, comes complete with all of the small snippets one could wish for. A fine covered interior having bone carved pulls all fully decorated and a silk worn hanging basket that can be placed upright. The interior having a dated newspaper clipping showing, what appears to be, this item with a different basket in Francis Dupont's home. The case is in surprising good condition. The interior pieces have some breakage and minor missing pieces. The whole resting on an incredibly carved gilt claw and shell carved set of feet.
