Chinese Red Brown Lacquer Jewelry Box with Iron Hardware, Early 20th Century

About the Item

An early 20th century Chinese jewelry box made with red brown lacquered wood and iron hardware. This small rectangular box features a large bottom drawer, two smaller ones and a hinged lid. The front is blanketed with carved foliage patterns. Each drawer opens thanks to a flat handle and the lid features locking hardware. The entire piece, including the interior, is covered with a red brown lacquer enhancing its carvings. This Chinese red brown lacquer jewelry box from the early 1900s with iron hardware would add an exotic touch in any bedroom or dressing room.
