    isually striking vintage Uchikake Wedding Kimono/Robe for ceremonial occasion, circa end of Meiji to Taisho period 1910s-1930s. This bridal outer garment is of a red color that features elaborate and intricate brocade embroidery in gold and silk threads. Using brilliant colored and gold threads, the artisan decorated the kimono with the design of a Japanese nature scene and water garden with pagodas, trees, bridges, and mountain scenes throughout in brilliant colors of green, blue, red and gold.. They form roundel motifs in a highly elaborate layout, especially striking when viewed from the back. The interior of the kimono is also padded with red fabric and weighted down at the bottom trim. The item is larger than life-size and somewhat heavy and is meant for ceremonial use only. This beautiful artisan hand-crafted piece can be displayed as wall art or on a stand as a sculpture.
