This bridal outer garment is of a white and red color that features elaborate and intricate embroidery in gold and red threads. Using brilliant colored and gold threads, the artisan decorated the kimono with the most auspicious symbols including flying phoenix, blooming peonies, fans, maple branches, and wisteria flowers. They form roundel motifs in a highly elaborate layout, especially striking when viewed from the back. The interior of the kimono is also padded with red fabric and weighted down at the bottom trim.
