Antique Folk Art Dog And Cat Form Brass Andirons
About the Item
An authentic Pair of Antique Cat and Dog Andirons in original as found condition. Ca. early 20th c. hollow cast brass. Each seated and looking out. The cat with a wide curled tail, the dog with floppy ears, short tail, and monogrammed collar (DAA). The bases with a diamond pattern. Iron bars at the backs.
Measures: H. 8 1/2 and 9 1/2", W. 5 1/2", Depth 18"
Condition: Original condition with expected tarnish, spots on both, some verdigris on the dog's base, rust on the iron bars (Please see detail photos) The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Pair present very well. While the Andirons could be cleaned and polished, our recommendation is to leave the original patina.
