English 19th Century Gilt Bronze Fireplace Fender Chenet with Greyhound Dogs

About the Item

A very fine English 19th century gilt bronze and steel figural fireplace fender - Chenet. The beautifully designed fender flanked on each end by resting greyhound dogs on a rectangular plinth surmounted with a finely chased ormolu floral mount, both ends conjoined by a centre steel rod, London, circa 1880-1890. Measures: Width 44 1/2 inches (113 cm) Height 8 inches (20.3 cm) Depth 2 5/8 inches (6.7 cm).
