About the Item
Pair of American bronze and brass ball top andirons with hand chased beading, bossing, foliage, and flanking flame finials. The andirons have a stylized centered scrolled foliage urn resting on a squared gadrooned plinth, matching flame finial log stops, and terminating on the original flanking scrolled legs with step back squared feet adorned with acanthus, bell flower, shell, and figural motif. Late 19th-early -20th century. Pair are stamped by maker Sterling Bronze Company, New York.
