An exceptional true pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. ormolu andirons. Each elegant andiron is raised by a wonderfully executed ground and rock like base with a large most decorative scrolled wave movement. Seated above are a handsome bearded nobleman and a beautiful maiden with her feet dangling over the edge. Each are draped in a flowing garment and are looking at each other.
