About the Item

Great pair of hand forged iron andirons, probably Continental.possibly French in origin, early 19th C or 18th C vintage. The andirons feature an organic plant like top with twisted metal curlicue form elements, the vertical shafts have wrought hooks to support a horizontal rod ( no longer present ) and a stylized wrought base. This set is in very good, original condition, one pad foot has worn away over time, not uncommon for pieces of this vintage. This does not effect the stability or function of the item.
