About the Item

16th Century Spanish Renaissance Coffered Ceiling. Tempura on Pine is brilliant colors of azure, red, black and white. Moorish Rosettes and intertwined motifs throughout. Was reduced from a much larger ceiling and removed by us from an historic house on Lower Beacon Hill, Boston. The tempura colors are actually quite vibrant and can be easily cleaned. By Repute: Gifted by Isabella Stewart Gardner to Charlotte Nichols Greene.
