About the Item

An Italian carved and gilt wood wall plaque from the 18th century. This antique wall ornament from Italy is a nicely sized piece at roughly four feet in width and just shy of three feet tall. It has a thick T-shaped figure adorn with carved roses, acanthus leaves, and shapely scrolls. This piece retains its original faux-marble finish and gilt, with some more recent touch ups. There are some areas of cracking and small losses, but overall a lovely old patina that reflects the age and history of this piece. This 18th century Italian wall plaque will make a stately architectural art piece for your wall; full of movement and color!
