About the Item

This gorgeous leaded glass door unit features a center French door along with two side doors with inside handles. All feature leaded transom windows above. The central one has a simple circular detailing. Petite 1 3/4” diameter brass knobs on one side and unique curved handles on the other. Brass door bolts on the upper and lower portion of the French doors lock it in place. This door unit is a part of a larger dining room salvaged from a local Twin Cities home built in 1905. The house was on the market for $1,195,000 on November 15, 2019, but sadly there was a fire on November 23 that started in the attic. This fire caused smoke and water damage that made its way down to the lower levels. The house was relisted in January at the price of $399,000. With the description stating: “Much admired brick 3-story has been FIRE & WATER DAMAGED & home is being sold AS-IS. Electrical fire started on 3rd floor. The property sustained fire damage to roof, & throughout the 3rd floor, & south side of 2nd and 1st floors.” The house ended up selling for $462,000 on January 22nd. Because of the damage, in order to renovate the entire house had to gutted down to the studs. The new homeowner decided the best option would be to contact us to take out the most important pieces of the house to save them for reuse in a new home. It took three employees three days to carefully salvage these two rooms (dining room and study) from the home. Each piece of trim and paneling is removed, individually labeled, and neatly packed up to go back to our store. Once the items come back to the store, we sort through the pieces and rebuild the rooms piece by piece just as they were originally installed in the home.
